Arteta Confirms Odegaard Injury Is Significant

Arteta Confirms Ødegaard Injury is 'Significant'

Arsenal Boss Reveals Midfielder Set for Spell on Sidelines

Gunners Face Extended Wait for Norwegian Star's Return

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Martin Ødegaard has suffered a "significant" injury that will keep him out of action for an extended period.

The Norwegian midfielder was forced off during the Gunners' 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend, and Arteta has now revealed the extent of the injury.

"It's a significant injury," Arteta told reporters. "We're still assessing the extent of it, but it's certainly going to keep him out for a few weeks."

Ødegaard has been a key player for Arsenal this season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 14 Premier League appearances.

His absence will be a blow to the Gunners, who are currently top of the table, two points ahead of Manchester City.

Arteta added: "It's a big loss for us, but we have other players who can come in and do a job.

Ødegaard is likely to miss Arsenal's upcoming matches against Oxford United in the FA Cup and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Gunners will also be without Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe for the FA Cup clash, while Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are both doubts.
